Southgate has been highly successful in the salary packaging industry; not because
we are larger than competitors or cheaper than competitors, but because we define
‘success’ as providing the best overall quality and value services, rather than
just focusing on a single measure such as size, price or profit.
The goals that Southgate set out to achieve were different from our competitors.
We did not aim to build an IT system that simply makes payments and reports FBT;
we set out to create an innovative and highly flexible IT system that removes all
performance issues and mistakes that were prevalent within the salary packaging
industry. In designing our systems, we targeted all areas of weakness and built
our system foundations differently, to prevent these issues from occurring and develop
a system that is flexible for any future changes (such as change in salary packaging
legislation, client policies, volume, etc).
